Many of the members of Rock Island Rotary serve on committees that support the ongoing needs of the club. In view of the weekly lunch meetings there is the need for people to provide the important but more routine work of scheduling people to serve as greeters and arrange for the invocation and music. Interesting and informative programs are important in Rock Island Rotary and this is the duty of the members of the program committee. A newsletter is prepared after each meeting to provide a summary of Rotary activities to keep members informed.
A Membership Committee focuses on the recruitment of new members and oversees the orientation and mentoring of new members. A Public Image Committee works to get the word out to the community about the great work of Rock Island Rotary. Club fund raising and event planning is also an important part of the club’s work to raise money to support selected community causes and to bring club members together for social interaction.
