Rotary relies on donations to help support it’s various projects and efforts. These projects have an impact in our local community and in communities around the world. This page highlights some of the ways you can give/donate.
Rock Island Rotary Foundation
The Rock Island Rotary Foundation was created in 2008 as a result of a generous bequest of $200,000 from the estate of Stan Harris. The Foundation Board’s policy is to use only the net income and appreciated value of the fund to support projects and programs that benefit the people of Rock Island.
Within the last 3 years, the Rock Island Rotary Foundation has:
- In 2016, the Foundation’s support allowed the Rotary Board to provide a $8,250 grant to the Springforward Learning Center for the Summer Youth Enrichment Program. This program helps reduce summer learning loss for Rock Island youth.
- In 2015, the Foundation provided $10,000 to allow the Club to be a key donor for the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Class at Rock Island High School.
- In 2014, The Club Foundation provided $5,000 to Rock Island Rotary Club for the Club’s Centennial Project (the Children’s Garden at the Quad City Botanical Center).

Fundraisers
Another way that Rock Island Rotary raises money is through fundraisers. Fundraisers are a great way to interact with fellow members and contribute to furthering our club’s mission and impact. Upcoming fundraisers can be found on our fundraisers page.
Rotary International Foundation
You can assist Rotary International in creating lasting change in communities around the world, by donating to various causes. Your donation to Rotary International can be made towards a specific project, cause, etc. and can be made in various ways.
Donors are recognized and honored for various level of contributions. One specific level of recognition is the Paul Harris Fellow. Paul Harris Fellows are Rotarians who have donated $1,000 or more to the Rotary International Foundation.
