Rock Island Interact Club Donates to Red Cross
The Rock Island High School Interact Club presented a $500 check to the Red Cross of the Quad Cities Chapter on Friday, Sept 2 for their fundraising efforts toward ongoing earthquake relief efforts in Japan. The Interact Club sold red rubber wristbands that had “Lend a Hand to Japan” embossed on the side.
An anonymous Rock Island Rotary donor matched the $250 raised from the sales by contributing $250 as well. “I’m truly amazed at the benevolence of our Rock Island High School students, staff and community at helping our club, and to Rock Island Rotary for supporting our efforts as well. We have a very caring community,” said Interact Club President Zavier Clark.
